Dopamine Decor - I like it, I bought it.

New to trend but old in theory, dopamine decor abolishes popular trends and focuses on the individual person.

The design trend that we saw emerge in 2022 is quite simply "I like it, I bought it". This is a sophisticated sense of teenage rebellion re envisioned and funded by an adult budget. This juxtaposition of a trend is to simply fill your space with things that you like, not taking into account what is popular with society. This interior design method is likely attributed to the Marie Kondo "Does it spark joy?" sensation from a few years back.

Maximalism - More, more, more!

Minimalism is finally coming to an end for most homes. We are seeing a return of maximalism which is the art of more, more, more!

It's a collection of all things, often mix-match and eccentric. You will see a cross-over between dopamine decor and maximalist for those adventurous souls. This design style is really for those who want to express themselves in their spaces.To really achieve the maximalist look, ensure that you are packing the room similar to arranging a large bouquet of flowers - leave no gaps!

Heritage - Something old, something new.

With minimalism being replaced with maximalism, you will see a sophisticated splinter group reverting back to heritage. This interior design trend will incorporate more of an old English feel with vintage and traditional style designs

These designs will follow very clean lines but incorporating historic design trends such as wood paneling, floral pattern wallpapers, stripes, reclaimed and vintage furnishings.

You can imagine palaces, state homes, manors and royalty for inspiration. If this style is a little too polished, you can visit cottages, barn-houses and countryhomes from the same era for a more rustic look.

Soft Modern - Subtle sophistication
